Band theory. Studies physics in Argentina. In 1958, goes to University of Cambridge, where he works on the band structure of magnesium under Volcker Heine's direction; interaction with Brian Pippard and David Schoenberg; work on computers, numerical calculations of the Fermi surface; the development of pseudo-potential theory; connections of Cambridge with Russia. Work with Morrel Cohen at Chicago University's Institute for the Study of Metals.
